Storm Damage Repair in Piedmont

After hail or high wind, we check the shingles, flashing, vents and gutters on your home and photograph what the storm actually did. Then we give you a start date we expect to keep and tell you right away if weather or materials change it.

What storm damage repair covers

Storm damage is rarely one big hole. A hailstone hitting a shingle bruises the mat underneath and strips away the ceramic-coated grit that keeps sunlight off the asphalt. Wind lifts shingle tabs, breaks the sealant strip that holds them flat, and creases the mat so the tab never lies down again. Each of these can look minor from the yard and still let water under the shingle within a season or two.

Our job is to find that damage, separate it from normal wear, and repair or replace what the storm affected. Sometimes that means a few shingles and a pipe boot. Sometimes the damage is spread across every slope and a full roof replacement is the honest answer. We tell you which one we see and why.

Spring hail in central Oklahoma fills roofers' calendars fast. We don't promise a date we can't keep. You get a realistic timeline, an arrival window for each visit, and a call from us when rain or a supply delay pushes something back.

What the work includes

Slope-by-slope damage check

We walk each slope and mark hail hits and wind-creased tabs. Then we compare them with the soft metals on your roof. Dents in vent caps, drip edge and gutters help confirm hail size and direction.

Photo documentation

You get dated photos of what we found, with the damage marked. They are useful for your own records and for an insurance claim if you decide to file one.

Shingle and ridge cap repair

We replace damaged shingles and ridge caps with matching material where it is available, and we hand-seal the tabs so they hold until the sealant strip bonds in warm weather.

Flashing, boots and vents

Hail splits rubber pipe boots and dents roof vents. Wind pulls step and counter flashing loose at walls and chimneys. We replace or reseat these parts, because they are where storm leaks usually start.

Decking and underlayment where exposed

If shingles are torn off, we check the plywood or OSB decking for water damage and soft spots before anything new goes down. Wet or delaminated sections are replaced, not covered.

Gutter damage

Dented or pulled-away gutters and downspouts are noted and repaired. If the run needs more than a fix, our Gutters page explains that work.

Signs a storm damaged your roof

  • Granules in the gutters or at downspouts

A pile of dark sand-like grit after a hailstorm means shingles lost their protective layer. The exposed asphalt dries out and cracks faster in summer sun.

  • Dented metal on or around the house

Dings in gutters, AC fins, mailboxes or vent caps tell you hail was big enough to bruise shingles too.

  • Shingles lying in the yard or flipped up

Missing or folded-back tabs mean the sealant bond failed. Neighboring shingles are often loosened even if they still look flat.

  • New ceiling stains or attic drips

Water showing up inside after a storm usually traces to a split pipe boot, lifted flashing or a torn shingle. It can travel along rafters before it shows, so the stain is not always under the leak.

  • Creased or lifted ridge caps

Ridge caps take the most wind. A cracked or raised cap exposes the ridge vent and the nails beneath it.

How a storm repair job runs

  1. 1

    Your phone call

Give us the date of the storm and anything you've spotted since, from grit in the gutters to a fresh ceiling stain. We book the inspection with an arrival window, not just a day.

  2. 2

    Inspection and photos

We go on the roof, check the attic if we can reach it, and photograph the damage. Before we leave, we tell you what we found in plain terms.

  3. 3

    Written scope and timeline

You get a line-item estimate and a realistic start date. If you are filing a claim, we can be on site when the adjuster visits so the damage is seen firsthand. The claim decision stays between you and your insurer.

  4. 4

    Repair day

We confirm the arrival window the day before, protect landscaping and driveways, and work slope by slope. If rain is forecast, we reschedule and call you rather than open a roof we can't close the same day.

  5. 5

    Cleanup and walk-through

We pick up debris, sweep the yard with a magnet for nails, and walk you through what was replaced, with after photos.

What moves the cost of storm repair

We can't price a storm repair until we have seen the roof, because the same hailstorm can leave one home with a dozen bruised shingles and the next with damage on every slope. What we find is itemized in writing so you can see what each part costs.

How widespread the damage is
Scattered hits on one slope are a repair. Damage across most slopes often makes replacement the better value.
Shingle availability and match
Discontinued shingle lines are harder to match in color and size, which can widen the area that has to be replaced.
Condition under the shingles
Wet decking, rotted fascia or failed underlayment found during the repair adds material and labor. We show you photos before doing extra work.
Roof pitch and access
Steep slopes need more safety setup and slow the work. Tight access for the dump trailer can add time too.
Metal components
Replacing flashing, vents, pipe boots or gutters adds parts beyond the shingles themselves.

Storm damage repair questions

Something not covered here? (572) 231-8302

How soon after a storm should I have the roof checked?

Within a few weeks is sensible. Most insurance policies have a deadline for reporting damage, and loosened shingles get worse with each windy day. A quick check also gives you dated photos while the damage is fresh.

How long will I wait for repairs after a big hailstorm?

It depends on how many roofs that storm hit and how fast shingles arrive. We give you a start date we expect to keep, not an optimistic one. If weather or a supply delay moves it, we call you with the new date.

Do you handle my insurance claim?

We document the damage and explain what we found, and we can meet the adjuster on your roof if you want us there. We don't act as your adjuster or negotiate on your behalf. The claim is between you and your insurance company.

Can hail damage be there even if I see no leaks?

Yes. A hail bruise cracks the shingle mat under the surface, and the leak may not show up for months. That is why we check the roof itself rather than waiting for a ceiling stain.

Is it repair or a full replacement?

We base that on how many slopes are damaged and the roof's age and condition. If a repair will hold, we say so. If it won't, our Roof Replacement page covers what that job looks like.
